Inspired by the artistry of Yavapai basketry, this design celebrates a weaving tradition both beautiful and deeply practical. The Yavapai — the People of the Sun — coiled baskets so tight they could hold water, store food, and even be used to cook.
Echoing the interwoven build of those baskets, the pattern layers colorful geometric bands and diamond motifs into depth and rhythm — individual strands brought together into a single design, honoring a craft carried down through generations.

About Lindsey Thornburg:
"Made by hand, made to be kept. Growing up with Western and Pacific Northwest roots, Lindsey had been familiar with Pendleton since childhood. Unable to find, or afford, a winter jacket she loved, she started wearing the blankets outside. The idea followed naturally: a high-quality garment could be built from these extraordinary fabrics.
Every Lindsey Thornburg cloak is made by hand in her downtown atelier by Stacey Berry and Lindsey Thornburg, most pieces made to order, one at a time." - Lindsey Thornburg
