History of Buccellati:
Established in 1919, Buccellati was founded by Mario Buccellati in Milan, Italy. He established stores in Milan, Rome and Florence. In 1954, he began the development of his overseas business by opening a store on Fifth Avenue in New York, and Palm Beach, Florida in 1958. In 1949, Mario Buccellati was commissioned to create an icon by Pope Pius XII for Princess Margaret to mark the extraordinary power of the first visit of a British Royal to Vatican City in hundreds of years. This splendid work of art is now admired at the Chianciano Art Museum in Tuscany.
Buccellati is one of the oldest Italian jewelry brands operating from the 1920s to the 1960s. All Buccellati jewelry is handmade and designed to look and feel like silk, lace, damask, tulle or linen. The mixture of metals such as gold and silver or platinum and gold is quintessential. Buccellati's exquisite and precise metal work by Italian artisans has become legendary.
